Is hypnosis the best way to take care of your mental health?
If you read further, perhaps I can answer that question for you. My name is Jody and I have been making hypnotherapy recordings for many, many years. I started making my own self hypnosis tapes in my early teens, after finding a book on hypnotism in my father’s library. Sleep Hypnosis soon became my favorite because it took me a really long time to fall asleep. This was boring, annoying, and caused me to have problems with my mental health through the daytime due to lack of sleep.
Today I am fiftytwo and am honored to share my recordings with over 133,000 subscribers at my Youtube channel that has accumulated over 33,000,000 views, and this may be just the tip of the iceberg. It’s harder to keep track of how many listens I have from download sales, and pirated or stolen views and downloads. Wow, that’s a lot of people happy to go to sleep.
What is hypnosis?
For the purposes of what we are doing here, hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness all it’s own. It is similar to deep relaxation or meditation and it comes with what could be called a higher, more aware state of consciousness. I am just the guide and you are always the one in control. You can snap out of it anytime you would like to.
I think the hypnosis video is a great way to do hypnosis because, lacking an actual hypnotherapist in the room, you are given even greater control and autonomy. You can please only yourself, and don’t have to worry about what anyone else thinks or feels.
Does hypnosis work?
The short answer is yes it does, and there is lots of good science to back that up, but to go just a little more deeply into the topic, I would say It has varying degrees of success for different people. I’ve been contacted by thousands of people who say I have helped a little bit, or drastically changed their lives. I know I’m finding this very encouraging, maybe you will too. The best way to find out is give it a try. It’s free, and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to do it again.

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is part of the hypnosis family but it more specifically aims at helping people feel better and be well. It is part of a larger hypnosis family that also includes stage hypnosis, conversational hypnosis to get you to buy something, etc..
I write my own hypnosis scripts using hypnosis techniques, but I also include meditation, cognitive behavioural therapy, and the latest in positive psychology and self directed neuroplasticity.
Does this kind of hypnotherapy work?
I believe this eclectic approach does because it combines tried and true methods that are thousands of years old with what is the latest, state of the art, science. And at my channel I have a great like to dislike ratio (very important) and I am swamped with people telling me I have helped them with their symptoms of depression, and their anxiety symptoms as well. There once was I time I replied to every one of these messages and comments, thanking these wonderful people for letting me know I was on the right track. When I realized this was all I was doing just about all day, every day, I decided my highest and best use was to get back to work making even better content, that would be even more helpful, but I still like to take some time to relate to my listeners. I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I didn’t stay in touch. Your feedback is infinitely important.
Why sleep hypnosis?
Most of my recordings are aimed at helping people go to sleep because insomnia, sleep disorders, or anything that causes sleep deprivation can have such a huge impact on your overall feeling of wellbeing. To be healthy and happy, you need a good, long, deep, sleep. If you can’t sleep due to chronic insomnia, this lack of sleep can lead to trouble sleeping on subsequent nights and dangerous sleepiness during the daytime.
I started making these recordings because when I can’t sleep my insomnia causes me to have depression, or manic episodes similar to someone who is bipolar. It makes me wonder how many people who have bipolar disorder just need to learn how to feel happy yet relaxed, and get a good quality sleep. That being said I will state once more, I am not a mental health professional, so I’ll leave the diagnosing to those who are more qualified. Please keep in mind when I talk about depression, I do not wish to diagnose anyone with clinical depression. I’m talking more about the layman’s term meaning down in the dumps, and if you are down in the dumps or feeling blue, perhaps I can help you with that.
